Considering titanium plate over aluminium plate provides an interesting problem. Aluminium is cheaper and much lighter than titanium alloy. However, titanium possesses much higher strength and therefore, considerably less material is required. In reality, the use of titanium plate is dictated by the end application.
Uses
Titanium plate finds widespread use in the motorsport sector. Like aluminium, it is ideal for use in 3D printing to make intricate components and parts. Particularly in motorsport, achieving ultimate strength in the lightest possible way is a game changer; this is why titanium has become a staple alloy in the motorsport engineering supply chain. We stock titanium plate in a variety of sizes which is available for immediate supply.
Plate Processing
We cut our titanium plate stock in-house using CNC and vertical saws. We process to tight tolerances – so much so that it often negates the need for the customer to perform further cutting ops on the material once delivered. Our cutting operations handle plates up to 4000mm in length or width and up to 330mm thick.
We stock Titanium Plate in a variety of grades.
