Our stock of magnesium round and square bars offer unique performance characteristics and are ideal for use in engineering applications where an excellent strength to weight ratio is required. Our magnesium bar stock is available in various grades and incremental sizes which we process for you.
Unique Options
While magnesium is a potentially hazardous alloy which can combust if exposed to water, the product offers engineers unique design options. Attractive performance characteristics include high stress, low density and similar corrosion resistance to aluminium casting alloys. Typically, magnesium retains mechanical properties up to working temperatures of 300°C.
Billeting
As a group, we process more than 2 million billets every year – therefore there is no need for our customers to cut down full-length bars into more manageable sizes. We do all of this for you in-house. As magnesium offers low cutting resistance, we cut magnesium bars dry unless a light mineral coolant is preferred and also take extra care to store and dispose of any resulting magnesium dust or chips as a result of the cutting process.
We stock Magnesium Round Bar in a variety of grades.
